We hear the word 'collaborate' in many aspects of life but what stops us from actually doing it? Can you explain?

Collaboration should be more prevalent than ever with our technology yet 39% of employees worldwide say people in their organization don’t collaborate enough.
WHY DON’T YOU COLLABORATE?
Top reasons for failure of collaboration includes:
Silos (67%)
No collaborative vision from leaders (32%)
You’ve been the individual who has succeeded and you’ve done it all on your own right? No. Your success is about collaboration and you might not understand that it was made up of the sphere around you.
The other element you need to put into your thought process is that your identity isn’t determined by your success of individual achievement. You’ve got to let go of your ego so that you understand your contributions will be enhanced and not dulled when contributing at higher levels. You are unique.
Collaboration is not about directing someone it’s about curiosity on developing strategies, solving problems, etc. It is a conversation not a one way street.
Success or relationships? You’ve focused on the results and not on the people around it and when you discover that nugget you’ll truly see the fruits of collaboration….and success.
Trust? (that could go so many ways). Trust yourself and you will find it easier to trust others.
How? Maybe you just don’t know how but there’s a simple way of building up to learning how. Write down what makes you uncomfortable when you try and collaborate so that you will look at them and focus on developing those strengths in order to move forward.
