We've discussed emotions previously and we understand it's healthy to have them and show them.
What happens when you can't stop your emotions from taking over?

Make time for your emotions but also look at them from afar. Don't allow them to dictate your actions especially when it comes to your work. When you are feeling angry, sad or frustrated at your place of work allow the emotions to come in but view them. They are just like a ship passing by because guess what? They will pass.
You also need to take a step back from them to see what size they are. Size? Yes...size. Imagine whatever you are feeling has a shape to it and if it did how big or small would it be? That way you can allow it to 'be outside you' and then ultimately let it back in. Might sound odd but it works.
Don't ignore your emotions....that's not what I am saying. I am telling you to view them and really come to understand;
Why was I angry? Was it necessary? Did I take it personally? There have been many people I have worked with that constructive criticism is hurtful to them because they view it as an attack on themselves. The reality is that we are truly trying to build on something that is good and elevate it not destroy it.
There are people who are out to get you personally but only if YOU allow yourself to be affected by them. You are in control of your emotions. You got this.
