Quote from a library guard in the movie Seven. The video clip we made about Seven was for a fun take on a very intense movie but more importantly because it had SEVEN in it and there are 7 steps to help you and your company to become stronger in sales and messaging and essentially every aspect. How? Well...focus on your customer.


The video lists 7 steps for a customer centric company and here they are in more detail.

1. Strategy (strengths and value proposition) – What do your customers look for? “The space we own” (strength)


2. Customer Understanding – what are they expecting from you?


3. Design and Engineering – Focus on changes that really matter to customers/leverage insights of customers/test and LEARN/Identify winning ideas quickly


4. Delivery – Deliver on your promises/COMMIT to improvement/ EVOLVE!


5. Measurement – wins and opportunities (constantly focus on them) – Where are we winning?


6. Governance – the right roles and responsibilities to the right people/care as much about customer experiences as sales numbers


7. Culture – you actually have to care/shared values/foster a desire to give great customer experiences/measure customer experiences


Last point is extremely important. If you take these steps seriously it is the only way you can evolve as a company. Only focusing some will not get you there. Take each step seriously and you'll see results.
