We should work like an orchestra every instrument matters and will not sound the same when isolated.

In order for a company to be successful (large, medium, small) each individual should play their instrument based on the song that the company is playing. One person is not going to make or break a company....one violin player will not ruin a piece...BUT there are definitely issues when one person discounts the other when performing.

Do you want to understand how to bring your company to their peak performance?

Conduct yourself with no ego....conduct yourself with the 'want' for others to succeed....conduct yourself with the idea that you want to hear every single note from every single musician. How do you do this and why am I fixated on orchestral maneuvers in the dark or is it light? Who knows but what what I do know is that when you allow people to be heard (at the right time) your day to day works more smoothly....your production increases....because people feel (drum roll please)

VALUED!!! Go figure...when someone feels part of something.....they actually feel good and when they feel good they enjoy being part of the team/company/process which in turn makes work not seem like work.

Every musician has something to offer. Every employee has something to offer but until you take the time or 'lend an ear' for them to be heard you'll never truly know how important they are to your symphony.

Remind yourself that you are the conductor but you don't actually MAKE the music...you simply guide the sound. Can I beat this drum more loudly? I'd go on but most folks don't read beyond the headlines so I will get to our crescendo.

So take the time to understand that not every piece is going to be Beethoven's Symphony No.5...6...47...whatever number...it's going to be the little day to day musical interludes that can get you and your company singing through each day.

Maybe a little exaggerated but the idea is to allow each note to be heard so that you have a complete musical masterpiece.
