How do you establish yourself as a great leader?
Read. Not just books….your team, your company, your clients and start with reading into….YOU.
Why?

Not easy to look at yourself but when you take a very deep look into ‘your feelings/emotions’ you will begin to understand WHY you get frustrated, angry, anxious, at situations at work. Is it deadline related? Home life? Your personnel? Workload? When you can figure those touch points you can then start regulating your emotions.
Why is this important?

When your team sees you are able to control your mind and body during tense situations they are more likely to feel a sense of calm and strength.
This gives a better sense of direction when trying to accomplish tasks.
Now I’m not saying be robotic. If you are upset you’re allowed to express yourself but don’t provide too many details. "Too much information" leads to alteration of your leadership. Sharing isn't always caring.
Put yourself in their shoes and think “how would I feel if my manager said this to me?” If it’s something you’d want to hear then that’s fine but if it’s something that you would give you pause ….then err on the side of caution
Read the room – if everyone is working extremely hard and it’s draining everyone….remind them that you appreciate the extra hard work. Say it...don't just expect they know what you’re thinking.
In order to develop good reading skills you have to practice so start today.
