Decision making can be difficult at the best of times let alone the worst of times but why do we limit ourselves?
"I can use these slides for this presentation or I can make new ones."
"We can hire two junior account managers or one senior."
"Stay in city....move out of the city."
"Watch this series or this series?"
The list of decisions in our lives are endless and at times....exhausting.

When faced with any decision the first trick (mind trick) is to not think of either. Look at something that is neither. Seems strange but what it will do is make your thought process expand and be able to absorb more of an 'impartial' view of the decision.
For example; You can't decide between hiring someone new to fill a sales role that has experience or little experience.
Instead of looking at experience or none...look at why you need to fill this role? When you notice something like 'untapped' revenue potential it will force you to go back to the origins and even double check your existing revenue stream. "Are we doing enough with our current clients? If not...what can we do? If so...are we better suited with more sales? More support? More marketing? More presentation skills? Are we reaching the right contacts?"
Obviously you don't want to go down too many stairs (rabbit holes are an option but look at me using an alternative!).

This is one business example but if you start understanding that taking your thoughts beyond a few alternatives you won't be so...blind.
Take the blinders off your decision making and see where it takes you.
There are no 'definitive' outcomes in business or life until it 'happens.' That's the beauty of decision making. You have options but if you start processing this way you'll understand that your options are close to limitless.
If you believe outside circumstances are holding you back then they are because YOU put them there. The saying from wayyyyyyyyyyyy back of 'you make your own bed now lie in it' applies to life. Not just when you make a poor decision.
You made a series of decisions that has put you in this spot. These are not good or bad they are just decisions.
The great part about this is that you made a number of decisions to get where you are...you are able to make a number of decisions to get somewhere else.
