As Prince sang, "Look me over! Tell me do you like what you see? Hey, I ain't got no money but honey i'm rich on personality!"

The 2020 Credit Suisse Global Wealth report shows that 52 million people are millionaires (net worth after debt). Let’s compare that to the 7.7 billion people who inhabit the planet and I’d say ‘wow that’s one helluva disparity’.

You think I’m going to write about the disparity? NOPE.

What I am going to write about is the fixation on (pretty much everyone) who keeps looking into that world of wealth and trying to emulate the same path;

How they got there? What did they study? Do they exercise? What do they eat? Trials and tribulations, and so on and so on.

I understand that it can be interesting but at the same time…why haven’t we taken a closer look at how certain individuals have rose to certain heights in their life through various adverse situations? Why haven’t we stayed focus on the individual who has had a career for over 5,10,15,20 years without fanfare? Is it because we feel it will be boring? Do we not believe that individual had to stay up late, work weekends, go through personal and physical trauma, face the highs and lows of technological advances? Secure a spot in an ever changing environment?

The person down the hall, street, subway car from you has had some level of adversity, some form of highs and lows, some chapter that could easily be just as entertaining (if not more) then the celebrity who's on TMZ. Different form but same issues, trauma, highs and lows.

Are we only allowing the people who are holding onto monetary value the same level of the deep knowledge and wisdom that lies within all of us?

If so, we are short changing ourselves.

Don’t allow yourself to fall victim of giving credit to those who own tangible goods to fool you into believing that the person standing next to you doesn’t have the same intelligence, wisdom and emotional wealth to offer.

That person is resilient, strong, has a history of unmatched strength...you know why? That person is...you.
