What do you think happened last week? Yesterday? You think you can give me an EXACT description of every moment? Every detail? I'm sorry...but...no...you can't.

Our sense of history and reality aren't exactly the same. In fact, at times it can be completely opposite to what we perceive because our memories are like a flash.

Our response to defending what we recall is because we are too afraid to admit that we might actually be....wrong. "Who me?"

Yes...you.

Try and think of your views on a subject 10 years ago. Work? Religion? Culture? Business growth? Friends? Family? Music? Movies? Did you feel like you had the same feeling then and now? There's a study showing that 50% of our memories are not accurate (Ulric Neisser study).

In a way, kind of a scary thought...or memory. To think think we might have been (gulp)..................wrong???

Our faith in ourselves sometimes outweighs the reality of the situation. We tend to believe that our minds are the 'be all end all' yet we ignore the cold hard facts of....we might be wrong.

Don't stress too much because we all suffer from it. Just don't latch onto the idea that your views, feelings, thoughts, etc were the same as they are now.

Our life is a series of moments or flashes and they can be so immediate that we catch glimpses of them. So, don't feel like you have a solid grasp on this 'stance' you might have today because tomorrow is a different day.

Our commitment to what we 'thought' happened and what 'actually' happened can either be completely harmless....or lethal (see every person who has wrongfully accused a person of something heinous).

The idea that we are committed to our memories 'come hell or high water' needs to have a caveat of....we might not be right.

If we can all agree on this we might (and stress 'might') have a better world to live in.
