"Not trying to complain...trying to explain"

There's a massive gap developing between....complaining
and
explaining.
What per say is the gap?
Well....let's start with complaining. The word complain means - "express dissatisfaction or annoyance about something." Everyone has the right to express their dissatisfaction with something. That's fine...to a point. If you are complaining too much....well...you know...'do you want some cheese with that wine?"

When you're formulating a point you need to have a base to it versus just stating a point. Although we live in a society that seems to have more points than a porcupine we tend to forget that the points have no actual 'sharpness' to them.
How do we create a valid point?
First, start with facts and not just facts you've accumulated from Dr.Google but cold, hard facts. Ones that have been looked into beyond a headline or two from sources that have validity. Within the confines of work - look into all avenues within your organization to accumulate facts.
Second, formulate the facts so that there is an end result to your 'opinion'. What do you want to accomplish with this? Are you looking to change someone's mind? Are you looking to convince a client that your product is the best? Are you looking to implement a new system into your office?
Don't overlook that important piece. You can have the most solid facts known to humankind but if they are not positioned in the right context they are just (as Boris Johnson stole from Seinfeld) 'blah, blah, blah'.
This is why when you are in a work environment whether you are expressing yourself externally or internally it's important to understand that you need to have a net result. Stating random 'opinions/facts' with no direction is similar to standing on a street corner doing it. People might hear you but they might not all stick around to hear the whole spiel. People tend to be quite busy.

There are forums for all types of opinions but if you are in a work environment and you need to express a thought, idea, opinion learn to find a way to make it valid, comprehensible and most importantly....have a goal in mind. Otherwise your audience will need that block of cheese.
